We want to give you a peek inside our Coach Certificate & Mentorship Program. Coaches taking part in this academic-year-long journey have graciously given us permission to post some of their learning and reflections from the private coursework they are undertaking during this program. Where possible, we have shared the course and the action task to give context for the guest post.

My goal in the program was to finish the course and review strategies to being an effective coach. I had been away from coaching for a few years so I wanted to review before jumping back in.

With the varied assignments, I was able to learn, reflect, and share about the topics in the course. It allowed me to grow in confidence.

Learning to be patient. I have a strong desire to jump into the solution but often it is more helpful to sit back and listen to exactly what the other person is saying.

I found that once I started coaching at a new school, I had very little time to give to the course. Going back, I would have tried to complete some of the units over the summer, allowing me more time to focus on my work and complete the course on time.
