This year, The Coach course has stimulated my professional growth. It has been an opportunity to read, watch, learn and engage with a mentor, and other participants, where possible. My fundamental goal was to understand more deeply the diverse variables involved in coaching, and to learn with, and from others.

Phase 1 was a steep learning curve! It was an eye opener! I became aware of the complexity involved, the many variables to be reflected on, the in-the-moment decisions, and the continuous reflections required in order to respond in the moment. This was my main area of growth. I am a reflective person, but it was an area of growth to be an active, open listener to hear the words, in order to ask questions which made sense.

My main challenge was believing in myself as a coach. That I have the skills and capabilities to support others at their point of need. To support me with this, I invited another coach from the team joined a pre-coaching meeting which I led, in order to hear my reflection of the experience, as well as to then connect with her reflection of my coaching style. I found her questioning profoundly insightful, and it really helped me to dig deeper within myself.

The Coach provided a framework, a pathway and resources. It provided different forms of representation, and guiding questions to stimulate my understanding. Moving forward, I am excited to explore Meta-Coaching within the team. This will hopefully help to develop and sustain a culture of coaching.

We facilitate only one cohort each academic year so we can offer individualized support for each participant.

Coaches of all levels are welcome: you’ll start the program with a self-assessment to determine exactly what the next steps are for you!
